Dr. Laurie Kolt
|
Dr. Kolt is a Psychologist, career counselor, professional writer, and a consultant to businesses and organizations. With her unique blend of training, she assists people with a wide variety of individual, relationship, career and organizational challenges. Dr. Kolt received her bachelor's in Psychology and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She trained at the California School of Professional Psychology within the campus of Alliant International University. Her professional internships included the YWCA Battered Women's Shelter and Family Counseling Center. After completing her dissertation on career role models and the variables that produce career success, she earned her PhD in Psychology in 1982. She also trained in career development at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Kolt has been featured on numerous TV newscasts and has hosted a national radio talk show. She is a national public speaker and author, and has written over 100 articles regarding personal and career success. She also served on a United States Congressional subcommittee focusing on the effects of key psychological and career issues that affect people's lives. Dr. Kolt has received multiple awards from the American Psychological Association for her work in promoting national programs that educate the public about the value of psychological services. She is an active member of the San Diego Psychological Association. Her business consulting firm, Kolt Consulting, has provided goal setting, leadership development, management training and small business development workshops to organizations across the country over the past 20 years.
